Class Expectations
Tardy Policy
You are expected to be in your seat and ready to work when the tardy bell rings. I will allow exceptions when I see that you have been actively working toward that goal but just need an extra minute to gather materials, turn in homework, etc.
When I see that you are having difficulty being on time to class, I will call home. Many tardies will result in a referral to the office and an additional call home from your Assistant Principal.
Cell Phone Policy
You may not use your cell phone in class. There will be very rare instances that I will allow you to use your phone to look something up or watch a video for class. Otherwise, there is no reason to have it out during class. If I see your phone out, I will collect it into the Cell Phone Time Out Box and you may have it back at the end of class. If you have an emergency phone call (from Mom or Dad, etc) you may take it out in the hallway. Just let me know if/when this occurrs.
Grading Breakdown
Homework/Daily work - 10% Usually, work not completed during class is homework and due at the next class meeting.
Labs - 30% Labs are generally completed in groups; labs may be assessed individually via a lab quiz.
Quizzes - 20% We will try to have three quizzes per grading period. Your lowest quiz grade is dropped each grading period. Any missed quizzes not made up within 5 school days, will become a zero or your “drop quiz”.
Tests - 40% Retakes and test corrections are at the discretion of the teacher on a per-test event basis.
**Although it is unlikely, the grading breakdown is subject to change as the instructor deems. The percentage is always viewable in TEAMS (gradebook), and changes will be announced in class.**
